Is the work with e-portfolios a useful supplement to the work of academic writing advisors? What experience do the students gain with this concept? In his empirical dissertation the author examines the effects and possibilities of a new method of teaching and researching academic writing. He goes further to examine the application of the concept of the Cognitive Apprenticeship. He researches the adaptation of these constructivist learning theories in the formation of literacy consulting and questions the consequences for the development of this still young discipline.
